Entry-Level Engineer

Overview / Responsibilities
Amec Foster Wheeler is currently seeking an Entry-Level Proposal Engineer for our Fired Heaters Division. The qualified candidate will perform assignments to develop an understanding of how to apply engineering principles and practices and to gain practical experience. The work assigned requires application of standard procedures and methods to complete a series of well-defined engineering tasks following specific detailed instructions or established standards and methods.
Supervisor selects assignments, techniques and analytical methods and checks and reviews work.
Key Responsibilities
Performs specific limited portions of a broader assignment under direction of a more experienced engineer
Prepares thermal design calculations for equipment in the Fired Heater product line following prescribed methods, procedures and software
Prepares preliminary technical specifications and solicits budget pricing from equipment vendors for items such as process burners, recuperative air preheaters, centrifugal fans, pumps, steam drums, etc.
Reviews vendor budget pricing for completeness relative to client inquiry requirements prior to proposal submittal
Provides the Estimator with all the technical information necessary to support development of a material cost estimate for each bid
Executes thermal studies and drafts associated reports including a clear basis, methodology, discussion, and conclusion
Composes technical proposals and other related technical supporting documentation in response to each client inquiry
Ensures proposal completeness including confirming that all client inquiry requirements are addressed within the proposal
Reviews technical portions of client inquiry documents including requisitions and project specifications
Coordinates and interfaces with other departments to solicit feedback on client specifications and other inquiry documents prior to proposal submittal
Solicits feedback from others to develop responses to client bid clarification questions after proposal submittal; Coordinates bid clarification correspondence with client prior to contract award
Under supervision of the Director or Commercial Operations, prepares contract transmittal (handover) documentation after contract award
Reviews formal vendor bids for technical compliance of with contract requirements during contract execution
Prepares and maintains fired heater and other ancillary equipment datasheets
Performs assignments to develop an understanding of how to apply engineering principles and practices and to gain practical experience
Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Skills / Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices
0 to 3 years of experience are required for this position

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, and stand and may require close vision work

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
